Orientation for new international students

The Center for International Affairs hold orientations for new international students in April and October. We will introduce required procedures and rules to live in Japan. All new international students should take part in this orientation.

Student support staff

The Center for International Affairs, Tottori University, organizes student support staff for new international students. Student support staff will help you to register your info for the city office and the University procedures. If you arrive at Tottori JR station, Tottori Bus terminal and Tottori airport from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, Student support staff will take you to the University.

*Student support staff is not for carrying your luggage. If you have many bags which you cannot carry by yourself, please send some to your new dormitory or apartment in advance.

*In principle, this support is available for those who enroll in April and October. Although those who enroll in other periods can also receive “Arrival Support”, it may not be able to retain supporters due to class and exam periods.

Tutor system

For approximately one month after enrollment, Tutors may be assigned to assist newly admitted international students with academic and research guidance, Japanese language instruction, and guidance on procedures both on and off campus.  Graduate students (regardless of enrollment status) are eligible to serve as tutors.  This service is available upon application by the newly admitted international student’s supervisor.  When the application period begins, the IAD will notify supervisor.  For more details, please check here (for university members only).
