【Processed photos are not allowed.】
When applying for residence status, do not submit photos of your face that have been processed using apps or other means.
Processed photos will be rejected and you will be asked to resubmit them.
It is inappropriate under any circumstances to change the image of the person by editing or processing the image to make the eyes look larger, whitening the skin, or modifying facial features, moles, wrinkles, etc.
Processed photos on residence cards may not be used for identity verification, may be deemed invalid, or may be suspected of being forged.
Please carefully review the website of the Immigration Bureau before submitting your application.
(Note) Photos where the face is clearly visible, even if covered by cloth or other materials, are acceptable.
However, if the face must be covered for religious or medical reasons, please submit a statement (in any format) explaining the reason.
