(Qualification Summary)
1. Qualified Applicants
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be privately financed International students who are enrolled in the University as undergraduate or graduate students, and from one of the following countries:Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, Viet Nam(Note: Japanese Nationals and Research students are not qualified.)
In addition, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
① Students who have an interest in international understanding and goodwill, and can attend six exchange meetings a year, and intend to actively engage in exchange activities in the future;
② Students do not receive scholarship or learning incentives from other organizations;
③ Students have a “college student” visa;
④ Students do not have a doctoral degree;
⑤ Students with enough Japanese language skills to complete their study and research;
⑥ Student's enrollment period will last more than one year beginning from October 2019 or from April 2020;
⑦ Students who can submit all required application documents;
⑧ Students who do not have parents living in Japan;
2. Monthly Award
Undergraduate Students: 150,000 yen
Graduate Students: 180,000 yen (There is also financial support available for participating in academic conferences related to your study program.)
3. Scholarship period
October 2019 ~September 2021 (2years)
April 2020 ~ March 2022 (2years)
※Only for the standard period of years required for graduation to complete their degree they study for at the time of the selection
4. Number of Scholarship Recipients
About 20 students in Japan
5. Selection and Result
・Primary Selection Phase: Screening of application documents
Announcement of the result: Thursday, October 10, 2019
・Secondary Selection Phase: Interview in Japanese (An interview will be held on October 26 or October 27 )
Announcement of the result: Tuesday, October 29, 2019
IMPORTANT!! If you apply for this scholarship, Tottori University will not be able to recommend you for any other scholarships until you receive the result of your application from the Sato Foundation
*If it is found that you were not selected to receive this scholarship, then you will be able to apply for any other scholarships.
Students who are selected must attend the certification ceremony on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
