The Tottori International Exchange Foundation is now accepting applications for the Tottori Prefecture Friendship Partner/Exchange Areas Privately Financed International Student Scholarship.

Application Guidelines
*Please read the application guidelines carefully to confirm your eligibility beyond the requirements listed below.
[Eligibility Requirements]
Applicants must be privately financed international students enrolled in a university or other institution in Tottori Prefecture and must meet all of the following conditions:
- Applicants must be from, or have studied at (or graduated from), a university in one of Tottori Prefecture’s Friendship Partner / Exchange Regions:

・ Gangwon State, Korea
・ Jilin Province, China
・ Primorsky Krai, Russia
・ Töv Province, Mongolia
・ Hebei Province, China
・ Khabarovsk Krai, Russia
・ Taichung City, Taiwan
・ State of Vermont, USA
・ Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica
- At the time of applying for the scholarship, applicants must have been enrolled at a university or institution in Tottori prefecture for at least six months and hold a bank account with a financial institution that has a main or branch office in Tottori Prefecture(※).
(※) Japan Post Bank is also eligible.
- Applicants must not be receiving or scheduled to receive any other scholarships at the time of application.
- Applicants must act with awareness as a Foundation scholar, cooperate with Foundation programs and local exchange activities as an "International Exchange Activity Volunteer," and demonstrate a desire to support future exchange projects between Tottori Prefecture and the partner regions.
- Applicants must not have family members who are MEXT Scholarship recipients or earn an equivalent income (except in unavoidable circumstances where the applicant lives independently and maintains a separate household).
- Applicants must not have received this scholarship for more than two terms in the past.

20,000 yen
[Scholarship Period]
Minimum 3months, Maximum 6months (October 2026 – March 2027)

If you would like to attach photos related to your activities:
1.Create a blank Word document.
2.Insert photos of your activities (JPEG or PNG format).
3.Write a brief description under each photo.
4.Submit this Word document together
with your application materials as a data file.

*This scholarship is awarded with the expectation that international students will serve as “bridges of friendship and exchange” between Tottori Prefecture and their home countries or regions in the future.
Please keep this purpose in mind when completing your application.

[Important Notes]
- The application form may be handwritten or typed on a computer, but must be completed in Japanese.
The "Applicant's Signature" (申請者署名) field must be signed by hand.
- There will be a document review and an interview conducted by the foundation.
- If you are temporarily away from Japan and it is difficult to submit original physical documents by the deadline, please submit the data via email first, and then submit the physical originals as soon as possible after arriving in Japan.

- Research students and exchange students are also eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- If you apply for this scholarship, Tottori University will not recommend you for any other scholarship until the selection results are announced.
