To the students and faculty members in Tottori campus

As posted on our main website, we received a notice to Tottori University and Tottori City Hall that “a truck loaded with gunpowder will crash into the Tottori Campus at 12:30 on Friday, October 9, and then open fire at Tottori City Hall at around 13:30.”

Our university, in cooperation with the police, will increase security around and within the university and give top priority to the safety of our students, staff and neighbors. The university will respond as described below and we ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

• The main gate, all entrances and exits, and the main gates of elementary and junior high schools are not accessible between 11:30~13:30 on Friday, October 9th. Please stay away from the main gate and other entrances at this time.
• If you have an in-person class scheduled for 2nd or 3rd period on the day, please follow the instructions from your instructor, including whether or not there will be any changes.
• If you find a suspicious object on campus, please notify the nearest office or faculty member immediately.
