The number of BA.5 strains cases caused by covid-19 is increasing. The number of
infected people is breaking records daily even in Tottori. Thus, Tottori Prefecture has issued
the following request and ask for your cooperation.

【Request for the special measure against BA.5 strain】

  • Repuest area All of Tottori prefecutural
  • Rrequest period From July 7 to July 31, 2022
  • Details of request for the special measure

When you contract a BA.5 strain, you are likely to experience some symptoms, but they may go away in a day. Monitor your health condition daily by taking your temperature, etc. Refrain from going to school or work and seek medical attention if you feel unwell or even if your condition subsides.

The BA.5 strain is highly contagious and can be transmitted easily if you do not wear masks properly. Open windows regularly when using air conditioning, as BA.5 strain can spread widely not only around the infected person but also in the entire room.

Take thorough the measures to prevent infection at work, school, and at meetings with
friends.

If you have any concerns about infection, do not hesitate to take a free test. [Currently 94 free testing sites are open (East: 40, Central: 23, West: 31)].

Follow basic infection prevention measures such as frequent hand washing, disinfection, and ventilation.

When traveling out of the prefecture, avoid going to places with a high risk of infection (e.g., large group dinners, crowded places, and poorly ventilated place) for one week after returning to the prefecture.

The highly contagious BA.5 strain is spreading rapidly and is the most infectious ever.
This variant can re-infect people even if they have been infected in the past.
Symptoms are similar to those of the common cold, but in addition, some people
experience diarrhea, loss of appetite, and nausea.
Even if you have a slight cold symptom, please contact the International Affairs
Division (IAD).
If you are determined to be a close contact person, please contact IAD immediately.
