Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation Recruitment for April 2022 applicants

To Privately Financed Students,


We received the applicants recruitment from Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation.

If you would like to apply for this scholarship, please contact the International Affairs Division (e-mail:kokuko-gaku@ml.adm.tottori-u.ac.jp) and fill out the application form on website by December 19.

*The scholarship information of Foundation website is Japanese Only


You must submit the application forms for this scholarship to the IAD by Wednesday, December 22,2021.

Qualification Summary

1. Qualified Applicants

 To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be privately financed International students who are enrolled in the University as undergraduate or graduate students, and from one of the following countriesBangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor, Viet NamNote: Japanese Nationals and Research students are not qualified.


In addition, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:


① Students who do not have Japanese citizenship;


② Students residing in Japan at the time of application; 


③ Students have a “college student” visa;


④ Students who do not receive other scholarships or similar money or unrestricted money for special programs on campus;


⑤ Students who do not have parents working in Japan;


⑥ Students do not have a doctoral degree;


⑦ Student's enrollment period will last more than one year beginning from April 2022;


⑧ Students with enough Japanese language skills to complete their study and research;


⑨ Students who have an interest in intercultural exchange and community service and can attend six exchange meetings a year;

⑩ Students who intend to actively engage in exchange activities even after the scholarship period;





2. Monthly Award

   Undergraduate Students: 150,000 yen

   Graduate Students: 180,000 yen (There is also financial support available for participating in academic conferences related to your study program.)


3. Scholarship period

    2 years or until the completion of the current course(Only for doctoral students)


4. Number of Scholarship Recipients

5. Selection and Result

    ・Primary Selection Phase:Screening of application documents

      Announcement of the result on website : February 17, 2022

    ・Secondary Selection Phase:Interview in Japanese (An interview will be held on February 26 or 27 )

 Announcement of the result on website:March 2, 2022

IMPORTANT!!  If you apply for this scholarship, Tottori University will not be able to recommend you for any other scholarships until you receive the result of your application from the Sato Foundation

  • *If it is found that you were not selected to receive this scholarship, then you will be able to apply for any other scholarships.

  • Students who are adopted must attend the certification ceremony in April 2022.
    If you are absent without prior permission, your adoption may be canceled.
