Regarding tuberculosis!

The notification rate of tuberculosis was 18.2 per 100,000 population in Japan as of 2010, which is a higher level than the developed countries in Europe and North America. Tuberculosis is caused due to an infection caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis. Many young people tend to get exposed to tuberculosis since they have not already been infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis.

To prevent yourself as well as your family and friends from the contracting this infection, please have a routine medical check-up.

Please see a doctor if you have the following symptoms, which are similar to those of a cold.

 

Symptoms of tuberculosis

  • coughing for a prolonged duration of more than three weeks
  • coughing out phlegm and/or bloody phlegm
  • having unexplained or unintended fatigue, general feeling of tiredness, and/or fever
